Okay, I'm convinced that I have found a need (with both mothers and daughters) and I'm going to attempt to fill it with this little book, Emails to My Daughter. I have begun to read each entry aloud to students (young women and men)...as I read it to them, we have cried together. Even my editor and his wife had the same "teary-eyed" experience.
So, now I'm going to ask each of you to email me (becky@theburningheartcontract.com) with your direct email address and I would like to send you random sections of the manuscript to read and review with others who might give us truthful insights. Most importantly, I know we all want to reach a young generation of women who are selling out to (or being swept away by) culture and giving away (and losing) their precious selves to those things that will never satisfy.
I would also like to ask your permission to randomly and anonymously include your blog comments in the back of my book--I feel that we all come from different places but we have the same goals...so your words, which articulate so personally your pain, can help another person who hasn't identified with me...if you would give me permission in your email to me, I would be grateful.
The manuscript has to be completed by December 13, 2007, so don't delay in contacting me, okay!!

Thank you Becky for your dedication to these young women! I am a mother of two young women, 20 & 18 who have been able to stay strong against the current culture, yet connect with others who they have encouraged! God will bless this effort!
I have been working with college students now for 10 years. There is something very special about those tender years and the choices that are made during that time. I did not know anything about you until we moved to Lithuania to work with college students until the Pastor's wife here in Lithuania gave me a talk you did. I cracked up that I would meet you on my ipod only to find out we were from the same part of the world!.. We just moved from So. Cal. and your talk was about speaking at APU where my husband and I graduated (92 & 93) and he worked as a Professor until our move and quite possibly you know Chris Brown(was chaplin at APU) who is a tremendous friend of ours! I am so blessed that you have a heart for this lost and passionate generation. How exciting that we are part of what you are doing and we did not even know it! God is really moving isn't he? It is good to know that we are not alone in this journey. We are currently working with a small group of College Students at LCC International University who lead worship for chapel. My husband is also teaching Sociology here. We couldn't be happier to be where we are! God Bless and I would love to hear from you as soon as you are done getting the book off to print:)
